Why are ESB or Gas Networks Ireland still reading my meter if I'm an SSE Airtricity customer?

Energy Supply Board (ESB) Networks will always read your electricity meter, and Gas Networks Ireland will always read your gas meter, no matter which supplier you are with.

This is because the electricity and gas networks are owned and operated separately to where the supply comes from. So while we're your energy supplier, ESB Networks or Gas Networks Ireland will always be responsible for installing, maintaining and reading your meter(s).
