Do I have to send in another meter reading?
We will contact you to send in another meter reading only if NIE Networks indicates there is something wrong with the initial reading you sent. Don't worry if you don’t hear from us; this means your switch is going as planned.
Your reading can be rejected if the MPRN number you supplied doesn’t match up with your property or if there is a problem with the reading itself.
If you signed up for meter reading reminders, you will also receive a text and/or email a few days before we send your first bill reminding you to submit a meter reading.
Smart Meters - Electricity
If you have a smart meter for electricity with Interval (30 minute) smart services enabled, you don't need to submit readings as your usage is logged remotely by your meter. If your meter has Non-Interval (Bi-Monthly) smart services enabled, it's still recommended that you submit regular meter readings.
