Smart Pay As You Go
Am I eligible for Smart Pay As You Go?
To qualify for a Smart Pay As You Go product:
- You must have a smart meter installed at your property.
- Your smart meter must have a connectivity level of 4, which is determined by ESB networks.
- You must opt in for interval smart services. This means your smart meter will log your usage every 30 minutes, allowing you to see a breakdown of your daily usage in 30-minute intervals.
Unfortunately, you are not eligible for Smart Pay As You Go if:
- You're currently a Pay As You Go meter customer
- You're not eligible if you have priority services/life support facility on the premise.
You're a vulnerable customer with a smart meter, the Smart Pay As You Go meters are available to you, but may not be suitable for your household. Customers with Smart Pay As You Go meters are not protected from disconnection and the supply will automatically disconnect regardless of the time of year if there is no credit on the meter.
