What is carbon tax?

Carbon tax is a Government tax introduced in the 2010 Budget applicable to all carbon dioxide (CO2) emission sources. Carbon tax has been levied on natural gas customers since 1 May 2010.

All suppliers of natural gas in Ireland must levy the carbon tax on their customers.
