What charges are on your gas bill?
There are three (four if Gas Band Y) main components that make up the charges on the first page of your gas bill:
- Gas Commodity Charge (units used measured in kilowatt hours (kWh)).
- Standing Charges (measured in days).
- Supply Point Capacity Charge (only on Gas Band Y or Z users).
- Carbon Tax (measured in kWh).
These charges are all subject to VAT at 9%.
The billing period, payment method and payment due date are also listed on the bill.
