Climate education and skills
Through the SSE Airtricity Generation Green Community Fund, we support people of all ages to build the knowledge, confidence and practical skills they need to live more sustainably at home, in school and beyond. Together with schools, communities and partners, we’re bringing climate action into everyday life. Hands-on programmes give people the chance to learn by doing; from growing food and protecting biodiversity to exploring STEM and green careers.
GIY Ireland
Backed by SSE Airtricity’s Generation Green Fund, GIY Ireland’s GROW at School programme is reaching more post-primary students through creating new school gardens, curriculum-linked learning and teacher training.
By learning through experience, students build practical food-growing and sustainability skills that last a lifetime, all while helping their communities take meaningful climate action every day.

Citywise Education
Supported by SSE Airtricity’s Generation Green Fund, Citywise Education is helping disadvantaged communities turn climate learning into action by bringing STEAM learning to life at STEAMSquare. Around 360 students take part each year in hands-on challenges that build real-world science, engineering and climate skills.
Giving young people the confidence and skills to shape their future and make a difference in their communities.

Brigit's Garden
Brigit’s Garden connects people with nature while empowering them to live more sustainably through immersive education programmes. The organisation delivers engaging sessions for schools and communities, combining outdoor learning, food growing, and intergenerational knowledge-sharing. Covering important topics such as climate action, renewable energy and biodiversity, the programme builds real-world knowledge and inspires meaningful action.

Midlands Science
Midlands Science brings STEM to life through outreach programmes that highlight the role of science and technology in tackling climate change.
Delivering interactive workshops, discussions and exhibitions that connect climate action with sustainable energy. Students gain practical skills, confidence and inspiration to pursue future green careers and apply their learning in everyday life.

Irish Schools Sustainability Network
The Irish Schools Sustainability Network (ISSN) is a national community of teachers, driving innovative sustainability education across schools in Ireland.
With support from SSE Airtricity’s Generation Green Community Fund, ISSN is scaling its Sustainability Accelerator Programme to reach more schools and strengthen engagement nationwide. Through hands-on learning and collaboration, the network embeds sustainability into everyday education and supports lasting behaviour change.

Bohemian Football Club
Bohemian Football Club, one of the world’s oldest fan-owned clubs and a founding League of Ireland member, will deliver a Green Trade Ready Pre-Apprenticeship Programme for youth players and the wider community. It will expand its Spark Skills programme and upgrade its Phibsborough education space, creating inclusive pathways into Ireland’s green economy while supporting community-led action on energy poverty.
