How can we help you?
Prepayment meter
What happens if I run out of credit?
When your credit falls to £1 (£2 if you're on Economy7) your Prepayment Meter will emit a low-volume warning sound for 2 minutes. Press any button on your keypad to turn it off and this will also activate your emergency credit. Emergency credit will allow your meter to keep the power on but credit balance will go negative up to a max of minus £3 before the power turns off. Emergency credit gives you time to top up before the power turns off.
If you don't turn it off, this warning sound will repeat every 30 minutes between 11:00am and 10:00pm until your credit balance goes to zero and your power will turn off.
Friendly credit
If your credit runs out during the time times below, your electricity will remain on but your credit balance will go into negative
- After 4:00pm Monday to Thursday. Your electricity will remain on until 11 am the next day.
- After 4:00pm Friday and throughout the weekend, your electricity will remain on until 11 am Monday morning
- Your electricity will also use friendly credit to keep the electricity on until 11:00am on the next day if your credit runs out on the following holidays: 1st January,17th March, 12th July & 25th December
Your electricity will turn off if your credit is not topped up and in positive credit before 11am on all the above situations.
