Do I have to send in another meter reading?

To ensure a smooth and reliable expereince while using this, we strongly recommend you use a modern browser, such as Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer (version 9 or higher, ideally version 11+).

What can I do?

  • You may already have Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer installed on your computer. We recommend you use one of the browsers. If you don't have any of these, you can download them for free.
  • Talk to your company's IT department, which may be able to provide you with an alternative browser.

Do I have to send in another meter reading?

We will contact you to send in another meter reading only if ESB Networks (for electricity) or Gas Networks Ireland (for gas) indicates there is something wrong with the initial reading you sent. Don't be concerned if you don’t hear from us; this means your switch is going as planned.

Your reading can be rejected if the MPRN/GPRN number you supplied doesn’t match up with your property, or if there is a problem with the reading itself. 

If you signed up for meter reading reminders you will also receive a text and/or email a few days before we send your first bill reminding you to submit a meter reading. You don’t need to do this but your bill will be more accurate if you do.
