What is a standing charge?

Standing charges are fixed costs associated with providing your energy supply such as meter reading, maintenance and the cost of keeping you connected to the network. They also cover our operating costs associated with the supply of electricity for our discounted rate customers.

Standing charges are calculated daily and are charged by all energy suppliers but the amounts may vary.

How much are they?

The easiest way to view all your charges is to check the ‘Details of Charges’ column on your bill – you can do this online through My Account.
