Why did I receive an estimated bill after I recently submitted my meter reading?

If you received an estimated bill even though you just submitted a reading it usually means one of the following:

  • Your reading was rejected by the networks
  • Your reading was not received in time (we must receive it at least two days before the end of your billing period), or
  • We needed to estimate the remaining days in your latest billing period.

If your reading was rejected, you should look at our Meter Reading Guide to make sure you’re reading your meter correctly.

If your reading was submitted too far in advance of your billing date, it may be accepted and used as an interim reading. This means that the bill is estimated based on your actual reading up to the date it was submitted, and the remaining days of the billing period are estimated.
