What if I'm moving into a newly built house?

To ensure a smooth and reliable expereince while using this, we strongly recommend you use a modern browser, such as Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer (version 9 or higher, ideally version 11+).

What can I do?

  • You may already have Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer installed on your computer. We recommend you use one of the browsers. If you don't have any of these, you can download them for free.
  • Talk to your company's IT department, which may be able to provide you with an alternative browser.

What if I'm moving into a newly built house?

If your house or apartment is in a scheme

If you want to open an SSE Airtricity account for your new property, you can:

  • Get the MPRN from your builder or estate agent
  • Call our Sales team on 0345 864 3546, stating that yours is a new connection site.
  • They’ll send a request for a new connection to Northern Ireland Electricity Networks.
  • You will be contacted by Northern Ireland Electricity Networks to arrange for your meter to be installed. 

 

If your house is self-built

  • You’ll need to contact Northern Ireland Electricity Networks directly on 0345 455 455 to complete an application form for new connections.
  • Call our Sales team on 0345 864 3546 to get a meter installed and arrange for the supply of electricity to your home.
  • They’ll send a request for a new connection to Northern Ireland Electricity Networks.
  • Northern Ireland Electricity Networks to arrange for your meter to be installed 
  • If all the work on your property has been completed to Northern Ireland Electricity Networks specifications, they will install your meter.
