Submit regular meter readings

Submit meter readings

NIE Networks will read your meter up to four times a year. In addition, We highly recommend that you proactively read and submit your own meter readings online, in particular over the forthcoming Winter period.

The benefits of frequent actual readings will be realised by helping avoid high estimated invoices or unwanted catch up bills later and ensuring you are only charged for what you have consumed.

Free Climote Heating Control Offer

The offer applies to new and existing domestic SSE Airtricity Electricity or Dual Fuel customers (where both gas and electricity are supplied to the same address).
This Offer is dependent on heating control ECO credits being available at your premises. The Climote install is dependent on SSE being able to redeem your relevant ECO credits. If your home was built later than 2006 it is likely that Eco credits will not be available at your premises. Please contact SSE for alternative offers if your ECO credits are unavailable for the Climote heating control.
While the vast majority of houses are suitable, there are a small percentage that are not. If your house is not suitable, we will contact you to discuss other available offers.
If you are currently renting your home, you should seek the permission from your landlord prior to installation.
The mobile portion of the Climote controls, which allows you to control your heating from your smartphone, by text message mobile app or computer, requires a yearly subscription fee. SSE Airtricity will happily pay this on your behalf for the duration of this contract. Each subsequent year however will have a service fee payable directly to Climote. This is currently €19 per year.
Installation of your Climote must be scheduled within 3 months and any Climote related queries will be managed by Climote Customer Service.

1 Year Electricity Night Boost Terms & Conditions - 1 year fixed term contract

These terms apply to the 1 Year Electricity Night Boost tariff (“Tariff”).
The Tariff is available to new SSE Airtricity electricity domestic energy customers.
These terms are in addition to: a. General Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Electricity and/or Gas by SSE Airtricity Limited to domestic premises in the Republic of Ireland (“SSE Airtricity General Terms & Conditions” which can be found on our website at www.sseairtricity.com; and b. SSE Airtricity’s customer agreement form (“CAF”). Together these terms, the SSE Airtricity General Terms & Conditions and the CAF are referred to as the (“Agreement”).
In the event of any conflict between (i) these terms, (ii) the SSE Airtricity General Terms & Conditions and (iii) the CAF, these terms will apply.
Your discounts (“Tariff Discounts”) as set out in the table below, are against the SSE Airtricity standard tariff rates (“SSE Airtricity Standard”). SSE Airtricity Standard rates may be amended from time to time during the Term, but this will not affect your Tariff Discounts.
Your Tariff Discounts will be applied from the date that SSE Airtricity is registered as your supplier and will continue for a period of one (1) calendar year from that date (“Term”).
Once you have signed up, there is a 14 day cancellation period. There is no penalty for cancelling your switch during the cancellation period. You may use the cancellation form provided to you but you do not have to. However, if you leave the Tariff after the cancellation period or the Agreement is ended by you at any time before the end of the Term, a termination charge of €50 will be applied to your account.
If you do not pay by direct debit, or if you subsequently cancel your direct debit, a €300 deposit will be applied to your account and you shall not be entitled to receive your direct debit discounts.
After the expiration of the Term or if you leave the Tariff before the end of the contract, your account will be switched to the standard SSE Airtricity rates applicable at the time.
In order to avail of our night boost tariff we require half-hourly reads from your smart meter. If the signal from your smart meter is not sufficient to support the transfer of half-hourly data, we will make every effort to contact you to discuss other suitable tariffs and in the meantime your account will be switched to the standard SSE Airtricity rates applicable at the time.
SSE Airtricity reserves the right to amend the unit rates or charges that apply to the Tariff during the Term if there is a cost to SSE Airtricity imposed by a governmental or statutory body (including a change in VAT) or as otherwise provided for in the SSE Airtricity General Terms & Conditions.
The Tariff Discounts may not be used in conjunction with any other SSE Airtricity offer, discount or tariff. If you wish to add a SSE Airtricity gas product to your account, you will be moved to a SSE Airtricity dual fuel product available at the time.
SSE Airtricity reserves the right to withdraw the Tariff without notice at any time prior to the start of the Term.

Product Terms & Conditions.

1 Year Keypad Electricity introductory discounts may vary by meter type (“Tariff Discounts”).
Your Tariff Discounts will be applied from the date that SSE Airtricity is registered as your supplier and will continue for the remainder of that calendar month and the following 12 consecutive calendar months from that date (“Term”).
Your Tariff Discounts are calculated by reference to the SSE Airtricity standard tariff (“SSE Airtricity Standard”) which may be amended from time to time during the Term but this will not affect your Tariff Discount.
You may cancel the Tariff during the period of 14 calendar days from when the contract information is sent to you following your sign-up for this Tariff (“Cancellation Period”) by writing to us by post or e-mail or by contacting us on 0345 850 8935 (local rate.) You may use the cancellation form provided to you but you do not have to.
If you leave the Tariff after the “Cancellation Period” or the Agreement is ended by you at any time before the end of the Term, a termination charge of £40 may be applied to your account.
SSE Airtricity reserves the right to amend the electricity unit rates or charges that apply to the Tariff at any time during the Term if there is a cost to SSE Airtricity imposed by a governmental or statutory body (including a change in VAT) or as otherwise provided for in the SSE Airtricity General Terms & Conditions.
The Tariff Discounts may not be used in conjunction with any other SSE Airtricity electricity offer, discount or tariff. Your supply won't ever be disrupted, even if the switching process takes longer than normal.

Things that can slow down the switching process

If there are any delays with your switchover, we'll always let you know.

Your meter reading was too high/too low
If your new meter wasn't read correctly or if the wrong meter was read, we'll ask you to submit another reading (we have a Meter Reading Guide if you need it).
Wrong MPRN number
Your MPRN number changes every time you move as it's linked to your property, not your account. If this happens, we'll only find out when NIE Networks verifies your first meter reading and provides us with the correct number for your property.
Incorrect bank details (for direct debit customers)
If any of your details weren't entered correctly, we may not be able to set up your direct debit or process your first payment.

If any of your details including your name, email, address or phone number weren't entered correctly during signup, we may not be aware or be able to contact you if there's a problem. So please let us know if:

Your Welcome Letter hasn't arrived within 2 weeks.
Your first SSE Airtricity bill hasn't arrived within 4 to 6 weeks (check My SSE Airtricity first if you signed up to eBilling)
You're having problems registering for My SSE Airtricity because your email address doesn't match.
