At SSE Airtricity, we’re proud of our green heritage. In fact, this year marks 25 years providing wind energy to the island of Ireland.
Since 2008, SSE has invested over €2.5 billion in the development of Ireland’s sustainable energy infrastructure, helping to secure our energy future. Our 28 onshore wind farms have a combined generation capacity of 720MW and has saved over 10.3 million tonnes^ of harmful CO2 emissions going into the atmosphere in the past five years alone.
Wind, our greatest natural resource, is a powerful force in our daily lives. Spoiling selfies, and sprinkling sand in our sandwiches, while also making it the perfect day for a surf. As we launch the latest ‘This is Generation Green’ campaign, we reflect on how we make the wind work for us. Powering our lives, homes and businesses.
Klair Neenan, MD of SSE Airtricity commented: "I’m delighted to share that from today, the evolution of our “This is Generation Green” (TiGG) campaign is being rolled out in RoI. TiGG is our signature customer brand campaign reinforcing our credentials as Ireland’s leading sustainable energy provider.
This campaign focuses on wind, our greatest natural resource, and how we harness the power of wind as Ireland’s largest provider of green energy†. We’re proud of our renewables heritage and must continue to move forward with our mission as a leader in net zero while we continue to provide meaningful support to our customers and the communities in which we operate.
The conversation on energy has really evolved in Ireland, recognising renewables as the long-term solution to both the energy and cost of living crises. A message further accentuated by COP27 reporting and SSE Airtricity’s commitment to forego a profit this financial year, as we invest further in our customer supports.
We’re really excited about the new campaign, helping to ensure we maintain our leadership position in the renewables space in Ireland."
Generation Green is our platform to educate, engage and empower our customers, teams and partners. Our Sustainability Partnership with Dublin Zoo and Different League initiative with the SSE Airtricity Leagues bring people together, ultimately leading to positive change.
