A Common Goal - Water Efficiency

A Common Goal Logo

The rivalry. Merciless slagging and bragging. Arguments about key calls. There’s plenty about our league that makes us passionately stake our claim as individuals. But also, so much of it that brings us together. Clubs, Players, Fans all united by a common goal to protect and grow our leagues and our communities. 3 league players will compete in challenges each month as they take on a different green topic and hero the positive action they’re making towards our common goal.

For our third challenge series we’re taking a deep dive into sustainable water use with David Cawley (Sligo Rovers), Sarah McKevitt (Cork City) and Tadhg Ryan (Treaty United).

Challenge 1 - Reduce water

First up, we're finding out how to reduce water waste in our everyday lives. Check out how our footballers David Cawley (Sligo Rovers), Sarah McKevitt (Cork City) and Tadhg Ryan (Treaty United) challenged themselves to save water in their homes.

Challenge 2 - Reuse water

Week two's water challenge is all about repurposing our resources. Our players took on some DIY by constructing home made water butts to collect water for reuse.

Challenge 3 - Food waste

Food waste is water waste! Check out our players transforming leftover items in the fridge into nutritious meals.

Challenge 4 - Watering our garden

For our fourth and final water efficiency challenge our players find out how often we need to be watering our gardens.

Challenge Champion

Which of our 3 players is the water conservation champion?

We can bring together the clubs, players, and fans and through small collective actions make our communities stronger to build a better future for all.
