What is the Capacity Charge and how does it work?

What is the Capacity Charge?
The Capacity Charge applies to large businesses with a Low Voltage Maximum Demand (LVMD) meter.

The Capacity Charge will be based on the contracted Maximum Import Capacity (MIC), agreed between the customer and ESB Networks.

The Capacity Charge is what you’re paying for your allocated MIC.

How does it work?
The calculation used below; is how we determine Capacity Charge:

Maximum Import Capacity (MIC) x Number of Days x Rate = Capacity Charge
