Ulster Bank and KBC

Change your bank details

As you may be aware, early last year Ulster Bank and KBC announced that they will be leaving the Irish market. As part of this withdrawal all Ulster Bank and KBC customers are required to switch their current / deposit accounts to a new provider and close their existing accounts.

In order for this to be a smooth transition and to avoid any unnecessary charges or bounced Direct Debits, we recommend all customers affected update their SSE Airtricity Direct Debit Mandate with their new Bank information.

What do I need to do?

Update your bank account details for Direct Debit payments.

What type of bank account do I need?

Please ensure your new bank account allows you to set up a direct debit with SSE Airtricity.

What if I have already completed the Switching form?

If you have already completed the Switching Code form to change all your Direct Debit payments over to your new bank account, this information will be sent to SSE Airtricity.  However, we strongly advise that you check with our Customer Service team to make sure these details have been updated. This will help you avoid any processing delays and ensure your details have updated in time to prevent any disruption to your payments. 

I don’t have my new bank details and my Direct debit details have been removed, will this affect my current discount?

If you are currently in the process of switching from Ulster bank or KBC to a new service provider and do not have new Direct Debit details to add to your SSE Airtricity account, you can make payments by card. We will accept payments by non-direct debit until March 2023.

If you had Ulster bank or KBC details on your account that have now been removed this will not affect your Direct Debit discount up until March 2023.
