At Airtricity, we pride ourselves on being active citizens within our community. That’s why we’re delighted to support this year’s Travelwise NI Walk to School Week running from May 16th-20th.
Sustainability is a core value at Airtricity. As Northern Ireland’s largest green energy generator, Airtricity plays an active role in helping communities promote a greener and healthier lifestyle, and our sponsorship of Walk to School Week is an exciting opportunity for us to help promote these values among our younger members of the community.
Walk to School Week is a great way to encourage young people and their parents or guardians to make walking part of their daily routine. Last year over 258 schools and almost 60,000 pupils across Northern Ireland participated in Walk to School Week. This year, we hope even more schools will take part and set the pace!
To support this year’s initiative, Airtricity is publishing an informative educational poster with some top tips on getting the most out of walking to school, as well as a downloadable personal certificate for all schoolchildren who take part (you can begin downloading personal certificates from the start of Walk to School Week on May 16th.)
